At CHUM our focus in the Children’s Ministry is living the image of Christ by loving all and serving with grace. Sunday school and Wednesday Night Kids' Connection provides weekly studies that create faith based knowledge, fellowship and belonging, and a multitude of opportunities to serve others. Our teachers are super dedicated to the spiritual development of our children.
Serving others is at the core of who we are. Children are considered active members in the functioning of our church. From opportunities to help lead worship, to clean up days around the church and opportunities to serve the world, CHUM kids are making the world a better place and forming their faith at the same time!
Missions are another way we express our faith. The children of CHUM raise funds or collect donations for various groups. Past projects have been: Nets for Watoto (mosquito nets for Kenyan children battling Malaria), Hat and Mitten Drive for local school children, holiday care packages sent to those serving in the military, blanket and towel drive for local no-kill animal shelter and a Read to Feed Sunday to provide animals through the Heifer Foundation. Stocking our Blessing Box located next to our playground with food and personal care items. Our kids are learning about social justice. Through these projects they are exposed to the need and therefore recognize our ability to provide. Our kids are working hard to raise money for Stove Builders of Guatemala.
