Church Council voted in February of this year to explore using the simplified accountable structure at CHUM
(also known as the One Board) and our One Board Exploration team has been working with a coach (Rev. Bruce Emmert) provided by the Great Plains Conference who is guiding us through the process. We are exploring this structure because we want CHUM to be in the best position to thrive in growth and ministry while staying true to our mission statement as an open and inclusive congregation. After much research and learning, we believe this structure will empower CHUM to operate
more efficiently, be better stewards of people's time and energy, and give people more opportunities to be in ministry
either in leadership or as a work/ministry team leader!
Since our last congregational update in June, our One Board Exploration team has drafted Guiding Principles for College Hill UMC’s Leadership Board, which is what we have chosen to call our proposed incarnation of the simplified accountable structure. We are excited that we are ready to begin sharing the Guiding Principles!
