Vacation Bible School is coming! This year we’re doing something new. We’re joining three neighborhood churches (St. James Episcopal, Grace Presbyterian, and Plymouth Congregational) for an evening Bible School.
We are hosting VBS here at CHUM.
VBS is Monday-Thursday evenings, with a family celebration on Friday.
The evening starts with dinner at 5:30pm and then the VBS fun from 6:00-8:00pm.
Children 3 years old to 6th grade are invited to participate. All participants must by potty trained.
Fifth and 6th graders are doing separate “Mission Possible” activities.

This year for VBS we
are doing Compassion Camp: What Every Living Thing Needs, children will
explore what all living things need to live—shelter, food, water, air, and
community—and how we can have compassion for the living earth, especially in
their local ecosystems. Through awareness, gratitude, wonderment, reciprocity,
and kinship, participants will consider how to become co-sustainers and
participants in the work of God’s creation. Using Psalm 104 as our grounding text,
along with additional supporting scripture, participants will closely examine
the interconnectedness of the whole earth—humans alongside the more-than-human
world.
